We have just had a lovely week with Jo's Mum and Auntie Liz staying with us. Both boys of course enjoyed all of the extra attention that Nan and great auntie Liz gave them over the week, and the visit was extra special as it was the first time that Jo's mum had met her new grandson.
On Sunday 11th September we celebrated Jonathan's baptism in our parish church, St Margaret in Madison. Auntie Liz was godmother, and James' best friend Fraser flew out for a long weekend to be godfather. It was a lovely ceremony, and was particularly nice to be celebrating life on the 10th anniversary of the Twin Towers attacks. The church was busy as two baby girls were also being baptised; Jonathan did us proud by being the only baby who didn't cry when the water was poured over his head! We think you'll agree that he looked very handsome in his baptism suit:
Star of the show with parents and godparents:
After the church, everyone came back to our house for a 'taquiza' - a Mexican themed taco party, courtesy of Greg and his 'Taco Pacifico' food truck.
The food was great, and the frozen margarita machine went down particularly well! After the terrible weather we've had recently, we were so relieved that it was a glorious day with unbroken sunshine, which meant that the adults could relax while the kids ran off their energy in the garden.
Hooray!!! Finally, a picture of the four of us.....
We rounded off the event with a piñata. Here's Daniel having a swing at it - all his golf practice has served him well!
