Halloween 2010

Halloween is BIG here. The build up goes on for weeks, and apparently the amount that people spend on it is a really strong indicator of how the economy is and how Christmas retail sales are going to fare.....So, of course we had to rise to the occasion. The good thing is that kids don't all tend to dress as horrible scary things: Daniel spent his first Halloween in the States as Curious George....

Late afternoon, Jo and Erika (our lovely neighbour from Tennessee) took the kids trick or treating around the neighbourhood, where they were given sweeties to last them till Christmas. Here you see Daniel with Logan (ladybird), Parker (Spiderman) and Kellyn (Princess).

We Brits with our solitary pumpkin on the doorstep probably scored a 'Must Do Better' for our efforts, given those of some of our neighbours.....
The day ended with a great party for both adults and kids at another of our neighbours' houses, the Montgomeries, complete with fire pit in the garden, scary treats, and plenty of beer and wine!
